Welcome video from the Founder

“Everyone enters pregnancy with their own unique life experiences…

Some good and some bad. As birth workers, our role often means leaving our experiences at the door and helping them work through issues like body image, fear, lack of self-esteem/self-trust, and supporting their efforts to learn in anticipation of their best birth. We center our care around the family and learn to leave our own bias outside of the sacred birth experience.
Embracing the power of intuition over rigid expectations is a lesson both birthing individuals and birth workers learn. At Birthing Freedom, our mission is rooted in love and support, aiming to foster positive change, one birth at a time."

Angela, Birthing Freedom Founder

Meet Angela

Angela is the founder and creator of Birthing Freedom. Having attended over 550 births in the 14 years that Angela has practiced as a registered midwife, birth doula, and primary care provider in Canada, the US, and the Caribbean, Angela has amassed an amazing wealth of information!

The uniquely intimate window through which she has been invited to view these birth stories has afforded her the perspective on the vastly diverse, yet often also very similar needs of her clients. On many levels, their experiences have become her teachers and, through Birthing Freedom, she is passionate about sharing this wisdom with you.

More about the real Birth Story Documentary

All of our programs include our intimate birth documentary following along with 8 birthing families as they go through the process of labour, birth, and the moments afterwards. Sit back and grab your tissues. This documentary is raw and extraordinarily beautiful. You will feel as though you are right in the same room as you watch, in detail, what each stage of labour can look like. Captured footage includes the early, middle, and late stages of labour, home births, hospital births, and the actual birth itself.
